"Meet The Browns" is simply hilarious. I laughed until I cried. My mother laughed so hard that her back started hurting her. Yes, it was that funny and uplifting as well. It made me want to watch more of Perry's Plays.

The family featured in the play was just wrong, plain wrong - in a comedic way, as in out there. No way around it. They had some serious issues. But they also had faith in God and that's what got them through situations many people go through. Keeping the faith made the difference.

While the play made you laugh, it addressed a lot of serious issues that have hurt so many. Situations like unfaithfulness threatening a marriage, alcoholism robbing you of your dignity and the pain of bereavement.

CAST

Outstanding cast. Everyone was spot on. The singing was outstanding as well. My mom kept commenting that they only got real singers for the show and that they did. Some outstanding vocal work and lyrics that are true to God.

The stand out member of the cast was most definitely Uncle Brown. Perry should make a movie about this character and have him play the role. He was priceless in this role and so believable. Actually, here's hoping you make the play into a movie, so more people can see it.

Uncle Brown's outfits - Whoa! Can you say rainbow. He was wearing fabrics I never knew existed. Especially the ensemble during the funeral scene of the play. I never knew you could get a cape like that sewn into an outfit. A real stitching marvel.

The funniest segment of the play by far was the funeral scene. Uncle Brown singing an out-of-place-at-a-funeral operatic version of "Silent Night" left me laughing until I cried.

But you know what, there are country people like that character who do the best they can in social situations and people appreciate them for it.
