First off, the title "Aquamarine" sounds like a ring on The Home Shopping Channel or QVC. This sub par remake or knock off of the movie Splash, not sure which one it was and whether or not they had legal authorization, was mildly entertaining.

Some jokes were funny, while others were corny. The storyline was not that strong, so they were working at a disadvantage from the beginning. That's not to say this film didn't have touching points as well. It did, just not many.

The best thing about the film is that it was technically and digitally colorful. However, I'm tired of Hollywood with all these poor remakes. It is a telling reflection of the lack of talent and ideas in the industry.

When they are not stealing other people's copyrights, which is a crime, they are doing terrible remakes of films that were hits when they were released. Hits that people actually liked - that have been tarnished.

While this film wasn't that good, it wasn't particularly bad either. It was bland and somewhat cliché. Ironically, the strongest performance in this tepid film came from the villain who continually tried to out the mermaid as non-human. She was funny.
