Title: Spiderman 2

Year Of Release: 2004

Review Date: December 6, 2004

Rating: PG-13

Running time: 128 Minutes

Box Office Gross: Grossed a grossly obscene amount of money.

Recommendation: Entertaining film, but too violent. Average story line, but great cinematography and special efx.

Site Rating: 6 out of 10 stars

I saw Spiderman 2 recently and was surprised at the moral lessons I took away from the film. It emphasized the price of serving others. People who do their best to help others, especially in jobs where you serve the public, often sacrifice a lot in their lives to do so.

However, the film wasn't very realistic when the lead character reveals to the girl he loves that he is Spiderman (oops blew it for any of you who haven't seen the film yet -raspberry-. Ok, yea, maybe I am a little sadistic ). She was so nice and told him she would support him in being Spiderman. That wouldn't have been my reaction:

Spiderman takes off mask and reveals who he is to MJ (um, that's the character in the film named Mary Jane, not Michael Jackson).

Aisha (as Mary Jane...LOL someone call the KKK): So, you're Spiderman. Hmm wonder how much I could sell that story for...

Spiderman: What did you just say?

Aisha: Oh, nothing! You don't worry your pretty little webbed head about anything.

Funniest joke in the film: The scene where he ran on top of the building enthusiastically screaming, "I'm back! I'm back!" then fell off the building injuring himself and whimpered, "my back! my back!" On a serious note, the film should have born a disclaimer, as many kids have viewed it, which I really do not recommend.

The story line was average, but the cinematography was excellent and the film had great special efx. The best special effect of all: Spiderman whizzing through the air and up the side of buildings and not one wedgie!

However, I must note, if the guy you are interested in wears spandex/lycra often, even when not at the gym and he isn't an athlete, maybe he's playing for the same team (kidding).
